We began the month by enjoying the cherry blossoms during a picnic at the park. It was lovely to finally be able to enjoy sitting out in the sun!

April was filled with so many cooking opportunities. We started by making "Stone Soup," a Dandelion favourite. Each child brought in a vegetable, which we chopped and added to the pot with our special stone to create a delicious soup to enjoy at lunchtime.
We also learned that pasta doesn't always come from a supermarket packet; we made our own and enjoyed it with butter and parmesan. When life gives you lemons.... we make lemonade! After being given a bag of lemons, we had a week of making fresh lemonade to enjoy with our daily snacks.

It has been a month full of new life in our garden and classroom. We have been busy planting tomatoes, lavender, pansies, and sweet peas, the latter of which we have already harvested and tasted.
Snails seem to be thriving in our garden, unfortunately, enjoying our sweet peas as much as we do, so we have been collecting them and watching them munch on cucumber in a glass tank in our classroom. We observed as they had small white eggs and watched the tiniest babies emerge! Our water snails in our fishbowl have also been having babies. We enjoy checking on them every day.

We are excited to spend more time outdoors during May and explore what nature has in store for us!
