Celebrating Spring at Dandelion Montessori School. A Month of Blossoms and Learning

We began the month by enjoying the cherry blossoms during a picnic at the park. It was lovely to finally sit out in the sun! The beauty of the blossoms surrounded us, and we felt the warmth of spring in the air.

April was filled with so many cooking opportunities. We started by making "Stone Soup," a Dandelion favorite. Each child brought in a vegetable, which we chopped and added to the pot with our special stone. Together, we created a delicious soup to enjoy at lunchtime. It was a wonderful way to learn about teamwork and the joy of sharing food.

We also discovered that pasta doesn't always come from a supermarket packet. We made our own pasta and enjoyed it with butter and parmesan. What a treat! And when life gives us lemons, we make lemonade! After receiving a bag of lemons, we spent a week making fresh lemonade to enjoy with our daily snacks. It was refreshing and a great way to learn about the process of making drinks.

Gardening Adventures

April has been a month full of new life in our garden and classroom. We have been busy planting tomatoes, lavender, pansies, and sweet peas. The sweet peas have already been harvested and tasted, and they were delicious!

Unfortunately, snails seem to be thriving in our garden. They enjoy our sweet peas just as much as we do! We have been collecting them and watching them munch on cucumber in a glass tank in our classroom. It has been fascinating to observe as they laid small white eggs and watched the tiniest babies emerge! Our water snails in the fishbowl have also been having babies. We enjoy checking on them every day, marveling at their growth.

Exploring Nature

As we look forward to May, we are excited to spend more time outdoors. Nature has so much to offer, and we can't wait to explore it together! We plan to go on nature walks, observe the changes in our garden, and learn about the different plants and animals we encounter.

The Joy of Discovery

Every day at Dandelion Montessori School is an opportunity for discovery. Whether we are cooking, gardening, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature, we are learning and growing together. We encourage curiosity and creativity in our classroom, allowing each child to explore their unique abilities.

Building Connections

As we engage in these activities, we also build connections with each other. Sharing experiences, whether it’s cooking a meal or planting a seed, fosters a sense of community. We learn from one another and celebrate our differences, creating a nurturing environment where everyone feels valued.

Embracing the Season

Spring is a time of renewal and growth. We embrace this season by encouraging our children to express themselves and explore their interests. From hands-on activities to outdoor adventures, we strive to create memorable experiences that will last a lifetime.

As we continue our journey through spring, we look forward to more adventures and learning opportunities. Together, we will create joyful memories that celebrate the beauty of childhood and the wonders of nature.

Let’s embrace this season of growth and exploration together!
